For the grand finale in Jena: The master's students of the second year of the eHealth and Communication program present their thesis papers

On February 2nd and 3rd, the master's students of the second year of the "eHealth and Communication" program gathered for a closing weekend in the city of Jena. In the historic senate chamber of the university's main building, they presented their master's thesis topics. Ranging from examining subjective prioritization of treatment compared to actual retrospective treatment priority to creating value through digitizing hospital discharge management for previously unincorporated external stakeholders to comparing automated (AI) and manual light microscopic evaluation, the range of topics was diverse and multifaceted.

A cross-generational alumni meeting on the second day facilitated networking between both cohorts, providing space to share memories and exchange experiences. The renowned guest lecturer, Dr. Lukas Käsmann from the LMU Hospital in Munich, kicked off with an inspiring keynote on the significance and application of artificial intelligence like ChatGPT in medicine. He discussed how apps such as DermAI can assist patients in disease detection and treatment and how digital twins can enable targeted individualized therapies.

In the evening, students had the opportunity to dine and socialize in a relaxed atmosphere with staff from the program and Professor Dr. Hübner. As a cultural enrichment, a night watchman city tour through the historical streets of Jena was offered on Friday, providing students with insight into the city's rich history.

The closing weekend not only provided students with a platform to present their research findings but also allowed them to personally connect, network in a casual atmosphere, and explore the city of Jena.
